Developing Biomechanics for Human Health - The 12th National Conference on Biomechanics was held in

On August 17-21, 2018, the 12th National Conference on Biomechanics and the 14th National Conference on Bio-Rheology were held in Xi'an, the ancient city. The conference was hosted by the Chinese Society of Mechanics China Biomedical Engineering Society Biomechanics Committee (the branch) and the Chinese Biophysical Society Biomechanics and Biorheology Professional Committee, hosted by Northwestern Polytechnical University, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Sichuan 25 universities including the university co-organized. The conference was funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. More than 1,000 experts, scholars and graduate students from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, such as Academician Dai Kejun, from all over the country and the United States attended the meeting.

In September of this year, it coincided with the "Father of Biomechanics", the first batch of foreign academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the academician of the National Academy of Sciences, the Academy of Engineering and the Faculty of Medicine, Mr. YC Fung, the 100th birthday of the party. After the opening ceremony, the conference was held to celebrate the celebration of Mr. Feng Yuanzhang. The 100-year-old birthday conference will be held." Professor Tao Zulai from the Institute of Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Jiang Zonglai from Shanghai Jiaotong University, Professor Liu Shuqian from Northwestern University, and Professor Han Haichao from the University of Texas have introduced and elaborated Mr. Feng’s academic thoughts and his views on the world and China. The great contributions of biomechanics and biomedical engineering have shared the growth experience under Mr. Feng's guidance and the research results under the guidance of Mr. Feng's “stress-growth” theory. At the same time, Mr. Feng’s inscription “Developing Biomechanics for Human Health” is the “Biomechanical Research Frontier Series”, “Medical Biomechanics” magazine “Celebrating Mr. Feng Yuanzhang’s 100-year-old birthday special issue” and the China Association for Science and Technology’s “Technology Herald” The special issue of Biomechanics was also launched during the current conference to present Mr. Feng’s 100th birthday.

This session will hold academic exchanges in the form of invitations to the conference, sub-theme reports, general reports and posters. In the invitation report of the conference, Professor Chen Weiyi from Taiyuan University of Technology gave a comprehensive introduction to the new progress of national biomechanics research and the latest achievements of the main research team in the past three years; Professor Fan Yubo from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics proposed the development of biomechanics and health engineering in China. Biomechanics should be further integrated with related disciplines and innovative ideas that play an important role in new health care industries such as medical devices. In the 14 invited reports of the conference, Shanghai Jiaotong University Qi Yingxin, Xigongda Yanghui, Xijiao Xufeng, Zhejiang University Chen Wei, Zhongkeda Jiang Hongyuan, Dalian Institute of Technology Yu Shen, Beihang Wang Lizhen and Electronic Science University Liu Wei and other 8 70 and 80 The reports of young professors are particularly striking. They introduced the recent achievements in cardiovascular mechanics biology, special environmental immunomechanics biology, biomaterial mechanics, cell molecular biomechanics, tumor mechanics biology, and biomechanical research and clinical applications. The latest research progress and achievements fully demonstrate the style and strength of the young generation of scholars in the field of biomechanics in China.

The conference consisted of 7 sub-districts such as bones and joints, cardiovascular, cellular molecules, eye, ear, nose, throat, rehabilitation and sports, as well as posters for academic exchanges, including 54 topic reports, 226 general reports and 423 posters. The conference also selected the excellent papers of the conference in the form of the evaluation of outstanding scholars/graduate excellent papers and the excellent papers of graduate students. In the end, 21 young scholars and 67 graduate students won the “Outstanding Paper Award of the Conference”.

In addition, a joint meeting of all members of the National Biomechanics Committee/Chinese Biophysical Society Biomechanics and Biorheology Committee, the 7th Editorial Board of Medical Biomechanics and the Young Scholars Symposium were held during the conference. . The next (13th) National Conference on Biomechanics will be held in Guiyang in August 2021, and will be hosted by Guizhou Medical University.

The "National Conference on Biomechanics" is a series of academic conferences sponsored by the Chinese Society of Mechanics' Chinese Biomedical Engineering Society Biomechanics Committee (the branch) and the most influential in the field of biomechanics in China. It is held every three years. This series of academic conferences has played a significant role in the academic exchanges in the field of biomechanics in China, which has greatly promoted the development of biomechanics and biomedical engineering disciplines in China. Under the leadership of the Biomechanics Professional Committee, the team of Professor Xi Hui of Xigong University organized and worked hard, and the active participation of the majority of biomechanics workers made the conference a complete success. The 8th National Conference on Biomechanics held in Xi'an in 2003 was less than 130 people. After 15 years of development, the number of participants in this conference has exceeded 1,000, the number of papers submitted and the number of papers exchanged have reached the previous session. The most, and the number of participants in this conference has remained at a high level. The participation of scholars and young students is extremely enthusiastic, which fully shows that the research team of biomechanics in China is growing, and the research in various fields of biomechanics and mechanical biology continues to deepen. With the development trend, biomechanics plays an increasingly important role in the key scientific issues facing the country's major strategic needs and solving human health.
